Reception Update

Friday 11th July 2025

What a fantastic week.  We went on our Reception trip to Bockett's Farm and had so much fun.

So much fun

There was so much to do at the farm.  After finding our lunch area ("No, it's not lunchtime yet.  It's only 10am"), we set out on our adventure.

We started with animal feeding and tractor rides around the farm.

The children really enjoyed the tractor ride.

Horse play

We started the day with a look at the horses and pony.  We learnt a lot about how much work it is to look after them.

Animal shed

Many people's favourite activity was the animal shed.  We got to feed pigs, cows, goats, llamas and sheep.  Some children took a while to build up their courage but eventually, they all had a go.

Piggy races!

We all lined up to see the pigs race around the track.  We were all cheering for orange and we were delighted when orange came in first.

Animal encounters

The children loved being able to get up and close with rabbits, guinea pigs, and chickens.  They were super friendly and very patient.

Thanks

A huge thank you to the parents who came along to help us on the day.  We couldn't have done it without you.

Sleepy time

After a wonderful, busy day, there were a lot of tired children.

Thank you for your continued support as always.

Thanks so much,

Fund

Every term, we ask for a voluntary contribution for our class fund.  This goes towards all the extras we buy to make your children's learning fun and exciting.  This term, we have bought playdough ingredients, fruit and veg for investigations as well as plants and soil.  Please see the class TA for more details.

Recycling

The children in this year’s cohort love our creative area, especially making models.  We always need recycling materials so if you have any of the following, please bring them in we are very grateful.  Thank you.
