An Open Community
We understand the importance and value of forming partnerships within the school, locally and across the globe. Parents are heavily involved as partners and we look to use their cultures, professions and personal experiences to support the school. Parents are invited to a range of school activities and to a variety of school performances, weekly assemblies and events, which take place throughout the year. Parents are expected to be part of the Hollymount community and engage with the school in order to enhance their child’s education. The school has an open-door policy and all staff look for positive and constructive feedback from parents in order to improve the experience for children.
Hollymount has a Home School Agreement - a three-way partnership involving the school, parent and child. Through this, we join together to ensure that our children feel valued and achieve their full potential. We believe it is these successful and effective partnerships that underpin the development of our positive, respectful and confident children.
We hold 'welcome' meetings for parents of Nursery and Reception children prior to the start of the new school year. In Key Stage 1 and 2, parents are invited to a ‘Meet the Teacher’ meeting early in the autumn term so that you have the opportunity to meet the class teacher and know what to expect from the year ahead.
Parent consultations are held in the autumn and spring terms, which provide an opportunity to view your child's work and discuss your child's progress with the class teacher. Parents receive a written report towards the end of the summer term. We welcome your feedback and carry out surveys on a range of issues, including a bi-annual parental survey on all aspects of school life, which helps to inform priorities for the school development plan.
